Something better than evangelistic events

I love preparing for Christmas evangelistic events.

  • Working together with other Christians.
  • Creating an environment where non-Christians will feel welcome.
  • Crafting a message that will be appealing to the people who come
  • Creating an attractive invitation for my friends and neighbours.

And then there is the joy of the event itself.

  • Celebrating the people who show up.
  • Watching them interact with my Christian friends
  • Hearing the message together
Here's Life - a division of Power to Change

And afterwards

  • Asking my friends what they thought of the message
  • The hard work of cleanup (and resting from exhaustion)

Yes, I love evangelistic events and I’m going to keep doing them.

But there is something better — and more effective: Evangelistic habits.

Evangelistic habits eat evangelistic events for lunch.

What do I mean?

I’ll send you the first habit next week.

Before I go, let’s pray:

“Lord Jesus, we thank you for the many opportunities we had during the Christmas season to tell others about you.  Thank you for the many dedicated people who took time to plan evangelistic events designed for non-Christians.  We thank you that your Holy Spirit was at work and will continue to remind people of what they heard.  We ask now that you will show us the next step you want us to take in making you known.  Amen”
